New Homes in Washington, DC
The Nation's Capital is quite a nice place to live. There's much more to it than white marble monuments, historic buildings, and museums. The city is full of elegant homes and pre-Civil War buildings. Living "inside the Beltway" can offer the benefit of walking home from a neighborhood nightclub or a late night at the office.
Our capital city was designed from scratch with lots of trees and open space, and the lowest skyline of any East Coast city. (No building may be built higher than the Capitol dome.) Rock Creek Park is one of the largest urban parks in the world. The National Park Service tends tiny parks, medians and public areas around the city. Hot summers, tree-lined avenues, and old mansions converted into offices give Washington the feel of a southern city.
Home to a diverse population, there's a Chinatown, Latino neighborhoods, and a large diplomat population. Condominiums and townhomes can be found all around the city, and beautiful well-kept neighborhoods of single-family homes and estates. In addition to DC, the metro area includes parts of Virginia and Maryland, too. The city is not government people. Tourism, hospitality, legal firms and non-profits are also big businesses, and high-tech companies have grown up around the government and defense industries.
